The DACA Program has been terminated. What does this mean in the short term?

This is devastating for good young people and their employers. Hoping Congress can achieve a compromise to solve this by 2018. More thoughts on that to come. I was waiting for clarity before posting about this. Here are the main takeaways, from DHS Memo linked below.

1. No new initial DACA applications can be filed as of today.
2. Renewal applications MUST be filed by October 5, 2017, to be issued work authorization through March 5, 2018.
3. All pending initial and renewal applications will be adjudicated on a case by case basis.
4. Advance Parole for DACA beneficiaries is over. It is no longer safe to use DACA Advance Parole cards. Filing fees “should” be refunded for pending I-131 cases.
